Our simple lives with home deliveries, electric scooters and an endless stream of entertainment would be absolutely fantastic if it weren’t for one thing. Sedentary is slowly but surely killing us. Our hearts and lungs do not get enough exercise. It makes us ill and depressed.
That’s why we at Korpen Svenska motionsidrottsförbundet have started the national exercise Team, Svenska Motionslandslaget. We have to get up off the couch, get out of the car, tear ourselves away from the screens and use our bodies. The world’s largest quiz walk is one of many activities within the framework of the national exercise team that will make it easier to actually get that everyday exercise.

The more we become, the greater chance we have to make Sweden a leading country for health and well-being.
According to the WHO’s guidelines for physical activity and sedentariness, walking is an important form of physical activity that can contribute to improving health and reducing the risk of disease. WHO recommends adults get at least 20 minutes of moderate physical activity every day. One should also avoid being sedentary for longer periods. A key message is that all movement is positive and that it is better to do some kind of activity than to do nothing at all.
